Newcastle....

I'd be making 3 changes to the side for the Newcastle game.

Milner in for Barry
De Jong in for Vieira

And Silva in for one of AJ or Ade. I'd like to see AJ, Silva and Ade all play and have a feeling Ade will make way although i think he needs to play 2 games to give him a chance to get the Juve game out of his system.

He did have an awful touch but grew in his leadup play and as Chop mentioned, our pathetic service made him look worse at times.

I'd play Lescott at left back, Boateng at right back and DJ back in for Vieira. I'd also find room for Milner and also Silva but now it's getting too hard to leave players out. We need a target man though so Adebayor has to be in for me.

If Mancini doesn't play Lescott I can't really draw any other conclusion that he doesn't rate him. I wouldn't expect that we'll get more than a couple of million back for him. Moyes will probably buy him back.

I wont name a teamformation again, as it's simply impossible with this squad and suprise last-minute injuries. I wouldn't mind keeping Ade and Boateng in the team and start Silva from the off. The rest is for you guys to fill in the other positions. Magpies are pretty unpredictable so far and that is just the kind of thing that worries me slightly. Than again, 3 points just because we play at home.

Even with all our injuries, I think we have plenty of options for this game. If I was to try and predict what Bobby will do, I'd say that he won't stray far from his selection against Chelsea but injury prevents him from picking exactly the same side. He may decide it is Gaz's turn for a rest but I don't expect him to rest Yaya for this game. The biggest question mark must be over Ade.

Boateng must surely keep a place in the side but if both Micah and Lescott are fit, the choice between them is not an easy one, IMO. I'd go for whichever is in the best shape fitness wise and if there's nothing to choose on that score, I'd plump for Micah and use Jerome at LB as I think that gives the best attacking options. The centre back pairing doesn't require any debate because Vinnie and Kolo are both undroppable at this moment, IMO. Vinnie is in danger of becoming a colossus for us if he continues to perform consistently at his current level. So the back four I'd choose is MR, KT, VK, JB.

The temptation to play Given against his old team is there for me but young keepers have to be managed carefully and, psychologically, I think Hart needs to play. I'm still not sure if he should have kept their goal out and I'd need to see the Del Piero free kick again from behind the goal to be sure that Hart should have got something on it: did it go over his hand or by it? Had it been on target, would he have got his hand on it? One should not forget that Del P is one of the game's finest from a dead ball and with a fairly central free kick, Hart is going to be behind the wall which could reduce his visibility. There a Del P free kick in the first half that at first look appeared to have been fumbled but replays showed that in fact Hart had deliberately and effectively pushed away.

De Jong must come back into the midfield and crunch the living daylights out of Barton; no offence Joey but you cannot be allowed to shine at Eastlands. Silva is also a must play for me. I'd go with:

NDJ, YT, JM
AJ, CT, DS

with AJ just getting the nod ahead of Ade but with a plan to give three of the subs bench some reasonable game time.

As much as any home game can be at this stage of the season (or always should be?), I rank this as a must win game. At the end of the season, if you end up where you wanted to in the league, none of the games you lost or drew were must win :? .

It's a 'no brainer'

Hart has to start. I can't believe how many people are questioning him across various sites. It's like City supporters have a memory span of around 3 seconds.......It's like City supporters have a memory span of around 3 seconds.

Joe Hart. What a wanker. He's let 3 goals pass him in around 9 games the twat!- I'd fuck him off

Hey ugly, i have a memory span of over 4 seconds you cheeky twat ;) Just incase your pissed up rant was aimed at me selecting Given over hart, i would drop Hart for Given as Joe would perhaps benefit from a rest. Given would benefit from being selected against his former club, rejuvinating him to believe that he still has an important role to play for the club. After all, Mancini has promised Shay some games, so Newcastle is a game that i think would help restore Mancini's faith in him and vice- versa.

Shay, despite playing second fiddle to Joe thus far, NEEDS to be playing and we can't blame him wanting away if he feels he's getting a raw deal.

Fairs fair[amongst other cliches]

Now get to bed ya drunken dick :?

I wouldn`t see anything sinister if Shay was picked for this one and I don`t really care who plays to be honest. Maybe Carroll playing up front for them and in some sort of form should ensure Joe plays.....ie, think we can expect an aerial assualt and Joe may cope with it better???

Hart/Given
Richards, Kolo, Kompany, Boetang
NDJ, Yaya, Milner
Silva
Adey, Tevez

If there are any doubts or niggles with Boetang I would select Lescott. Would love to rest either or both of Vinny or Carlos but I can`t see that we can afford that luxury..........4-0 :D but we gotta find our scoring boots. Also wouldn`t be adverse to Joey B continuing the trend of broken legs in the PL this season
I love Mancini, I have all his albums you know.
