Q: will we at our best beat them at their best?

It's a yes from me.

That's not the question though: the question is "will City be at their best?". None of us knows the answer to that one, not even PJ. We can probably say that not every player will be at their absolute best but all or most could be at close to their best but we cannot be certain that they will and I'm sure that we all hope that they will.

Hope that is a precaution and that his injury will not impair him from playing or risk put him at risk of long term injury, even if he has to have a pain killing injection. Win on Sunday and it's probably safe to rest Joe until pre-season (or the Euros, but I could give a flying !#*+ about them).

Another great TEAM performance, ala against the rags, is what is required perhaps more than individuals playing at their optimom. Wigan showed you can cause absolute panic at the back against them with quick and decisive ball movement. Joe HAS to play this game even if he is only 90% fit {what is the injury by the way?}, The foundation to our last two seasons achievements has been our superior defensive record and Joe plays a massive part in marshalling that. As was the case with the rags I think we posses equal goal scoring threats, the difference is at the back. Unchanged side for mine, coming off a decent break whilst they had to play midweek may prove to be a big factor come the last twenty minutes or so.
I love Mancini, I have all his albums you know.

We've certainly got to attack them that's for sure, cos their back four is their weakest link. Having said that though, Wigan aside, I think they've conceded just 1 goal in their last 8 games and Krul is neck and neck with Harty for clean sheets. I remember them at our place, 2 unbelievably disciplined banks of 4 with Ben Arfa breaking from midfield. Since then of course they've added Cisse to the mix to make them even more dangerous. I think the good news from our point of view is that they've got to come at us, but in all honesty I can't think of a fixture that's tougher at the moment. We'd beat them at ours, I think we'd edge it on a neutral ground, but up there it will be an absolute fucking bear pit and unless we somehow sneak one early doors, I don't see us beating them. Look forward to being wrong though, cos I want this baaaaaad!!!!!!!!!!

All i've read all week is how good Newcastle are with Cisse, Ba, and Ben Arfa. Ok, they are good players in a good team. They have done well this season and exceeded all expectations, but so have we and we are top of the league on merit. Not too long ago, i'd of been cowering behind the sofa, shaking like a shitting dog, than watch the game on TV. Nowadays, not only is it a pleasure to see us tear teams apart, i actually have new found faith, that when we are up against it, we will deliver, Like BJ says, they are weak in defence and i think we will go there and finally prove we have the quality and belief in the team to win the league. I'm confident that neither Newcastle nor coward Webb can stop up. 1-3

That's not what I said! I said it was their weakest area. Compared with 80% of the rest of the teams in the Prem, their defence is excellent!

Ok, whatever BJ. We will test their defence i think despite them being the form team with home advantage in front of their ultra fickle fans! We must start on the front foot and be direct, shooting on sight. They cannot aford to sit back so the fact they will come at us will help as we can take them on the counter attack. I'm totally confident we will win and i won't be surprised if we beat them convincingly. There's been too much negativity on here recently, time to have faith and believe in the team. Our travelling fans lucky enough to be there will do us proud i'm sure, but if we do not pull it off and get the win, then they, as i am, will still be there next season knowing it's only a matter of time before we do win the league. Not too long ago since we were a club with no drive and direction, remember that.

I'm probably talking bollocks to some but at least i'm talking positive bollocks!

Believe...

When I'm siiting in the North Stand and we're 2-0 up against QPR, having beaten Newcastle, then I'll start to believe. Until then, memories of regular dismal failures against any team that gets in our faces (Stoke, Everton, Swansea etc), leaves my arse twitchier than Redknapp's eyelid. We've got to fight like dogs tomorrow and hope that cnut Webb doesn't fold in the face of 50000 wankers endlessly baying for penalties and red cards! I feel as sick as a pike already.......
