When it scored I stood up, not cheering, not waving me arms, not jumping up and down. I don't discuss it. It is on the pitch for a whole lot of reasons, none of them being our club and the fans. I did however lost my voice for a few minutes after loudly singing the Mancini-song very soon afterwards. Whatever happens with it on the pitch we achieve not because of it, but despite it.

It was fascinating to feel the mood changing completely before and after the game with results going our way. I hope it's the same in the dressing rooms of both City and United. If so, strange things can happen. So far, 5 points adrift. One draw from United and it's in our own hands. Win at Norwich and we reduce 8 to 2 points within 4 days. That's not being me the happy clappy, it's a fact and a feeling running through every City-fan up until the Norwich-game.

Good game (not great, esp. last 25 minutes of the 1st half) and we at least showed where we had been a few months back. 4-0 was a mere reflections of what could have been 6 at least. WBA were poor, like when we played them at their place. We couldn't break the deadlock then, we only needed 6 minutes now.

BJ, was good to see you at the Arse. Pity we played poor, as I would have loved these plastic fans to shut it. First time I came across 65.000 who were more interested in booing Nasri and Balotelli, than supporting their team up until they scored.
BMR, no flies open, just the odd beer and a bit of singing and rock-and-roll. We're still in it, either some like it or not !!

bmr - Bad planning on my behalf, I'll be in Cuba when the derby game is on - doubtful I'll even get to see it!

This fixture was a defining moment last season if memory serves {think it was here Tevez ended his excile and got our season back on track}. Like last season WB are on a good run of results and this will be a difficult game. Wait and see who arrives back from international duty unscathed......at least the Toure brothers only had seventy minutes ;) .

That was the home game, you knob :P . You could argue that the away game was a defining moment in its way because we drew 0-0 despite completely dominating Hodgson's parked bus of a side.

The way Spurs and the Arse are shaping up, this is the kind of game where we cannot afford to drop points. However, given the way West Brom have dispensed with both Scouse outfits at the Hawthorns this season, I'd say we're in for a tough afternoon. Stick with the team that did for Sunderland last week and we should be ok.....just

Hawthorns......another ground we have an utterly shit record on in recent history, think when Mario scored twice a few seasons ago was the only win we have had since returning to the PL if memory serves me correctly.

As OB1 points out, another seminal moment last season where this and the Sunderland games could have been the ones that cost us the title if Blackburn didnt win at OT.

I think Clarke is a good manager and more under the radar because he doesn't get the coverage by the media. Compared to Hughes' mates crapping on for years about "up and coming and ambitious" propaganda about him as he went from job to job, albeit they have shut up now not wanting to jeopardize their careers (special mention to those who said "we can never know what would have happened to us if we didn't sack Hughes"!! ). But i digress, in a short space of time Clarke as changed WBA into a more consistent, energetic and fluid outfit under a tactically astute manager and one that could be the bolter to finish in the "5th to 8th" echelon of teams that miss out on the top 4.....there is always one each season, like Newcastle last season, Spurs in 10/11; Villa in 09/10 etc.

What will shape their season is their away form, and their results have suggested that......although loss to Fulham aside, a draw in a derby vs Villa and Spuds at WHL is respectable.......i watched the game at Spuds and they were a far better side and really deserved to win that.

Well pardon me. Was merely looking to get this thread up and running as it would give us all something to talk about other than the bloody public education system. That aside I think we will face a different style of WB side than Hodgson`s model. Agree with Peej about Clarke`s cred`s as a manager.....a point I raised sometime back when we were discussing potential replacements for Hughes.....much to the derision of a couple on here I might add ;) .
