Personal Highlight

Hey, most of you know me as Middleton Daryl, or the angry City supporter in the Hatter. At any rate, although this isn't MCFC news, I wanted to share. My nephew Rhys (6 years old, living in Oldham with my brother & family), was invited to Blackburn's Centre of Excellence for 1 year. It's their pre-pre academy. Also, he had a match yesterday & my brother was approached by a Bolton scout asking about my nephew. Again, not MCFC news, but can you blame me for being a very proud uncle? Make no mistakes, at 6, he is already a die hard blue: to quote him ... "We don't like RED, do we dad?" So when you hear about Rhys Brown scoring a hat-trick in the CL final in 2028 to lead City to their 5th consecutive CL Cup, and the heroics of said City star in the WC for England in 2030, you can say you had a pint with that superstar's uncle.

I always knew you were a big soft teddy bear deep down. By the way stop trying to pass Langley off as Middleton.

Last I heard my old schoolmate and ex City right back Geoff Lomax (remember Charlton promotion 5-1) was working for Bolton's youth set up. If you happen to find out if he's still there could you let me know? Cheers

Thats great daryl, very happy for your young nephew. Hope he makes it big and there is reason to be proud. Having said that does it make anyone else a little uneasy that a scout for a professional football team is approaching the parents of a 6 year old???

Frank I'd be more uneasy if he were approached by Gary Glitter!

Here is said nephew. Regardless of where he plays, he still knows his roots
